I have been offred a dp chip for my GU Di for 600. Are they worth installing and if so is there anything to look for on the chip to see if its ok? How long do they last for as this one is 4 years old?

IMO good deal cant wear them out as far as I'm aware. figures go from 118 Kw to 138Kw
you do notice the difference, best if done with larger exhaust . I drive/tow with it on 5 setting
over that it just blows black smoke, yeah good pick up

Good deal and half the price.
I heard Steinbaur are the way to go with a 3.0L as apposed to DP. This by two others and a company that sells and promotes them.
Not sure if this is rumour or not.
Can't really go wrong for $600 I reckon, as you could always sell it on at that price.

The bitch part to fit is the two wires on the injector pump. I posted up the fitting instructions in the DIY section too. 6hunge is a good pickup too. Got mine for that... TD think's that Intercoolers are a rip off. I reckon Chips are worse. Considering the cost of the components is less that a family pack at KFC.

You would think with the choice on the market the prices would start to come down. Bit of a rip off full price i think.

Well if you know how to search enough on the web you can find new units for well under $600. Not DP and not in Aus but its no biggie I think. The retailers here have had it to good for too long I think.

Picked up the chip last night and had a good look at what needs to be done. Where have others put the earth wire on the pump end? There are some hard to access screws on top of the pump which would be suitable in theory. Any help appreciated especially photos of the connections in the car and engine bay. (i have seen the instructions posted on here but they're not very clear).

Do as the instructions exactly say and you'll be right. Earth it on the pump and clip onto the second black wire, by memory, the one closest to the engine.
Finding the right wire at the ECU was fun. Time to get the soldering iron out mate...
Tip : the two wires running to the pump. I used some twin sheathed two core wire as it was smaller and easier to fit through the hole in the firewall. Worked a treat...

I have now got it on 8. Whats the general setting that works best with a larger exhaust?
