Hi all.
Looking to buy a 3.0l GU Patrol but don't want any surprises.
Any info about them welcomed, heard all manner of horror stories so I'm treading carefully.
What would be considered high milage, I hear they are bulletproof drivetrains but an idea of their lifespan would be good. I know it's a matter of how they're driven but in general terms what would be considered too many miles to not buy?

The pre 05 ZD30s have a very bad reputation, there is no real idea of when they go bang but usually by 250,000-300,000 if they haven't already they are more likely to have issues. Like westy said if money permits your better off getting a TD42. If your set on getting a 3.0 then do a search for NADS. There are half a dozen modifications that can help prevent them going bang.
