G'Day I am known as Brisat, short for Brisbane Satellites. I supply satellite tv gear for caravans campers motorhomes etc and can also answer many of the questions associated with this stuff.
I have got a really good Maverick TD42 that is almost run-in now {410,000 K's] doesn't use oil or water but it does use a bit of diesel {14/100}.
I have a lot of things on the old dear, 3 batteries with auto charge systems connected to two of them and a solar panel connected to one via a changeover relay, this one supplies power for the fridge and HF radio, the other one supplies the power to the rear for whatever. Other mod's include turbo and exhaust system, winch, led DRL's , narva 3" spots, fog lights, relays for everything, 15 X 7 mags with 31x10.5x15 Maxxis Bravo 751's, Longranger tank, extra gauges {5} for something different to look at, LED fluoro type interior lights, toilet roll bypass oil filter, led globes in the upper tail lights [park & stop]

Welcome mate. Spot on about the just run in...
Sounds like you have a pretty weighty bus so possible need to look at a few strengthening mods but plenty of time for that...
Enjoy
