Does any one know/use a powder coater in Melb.
I am wanting to powder coat a silver rear bar in black.
Do I need to have the original paint or powder coat removed before powder coating.

haven't bought but would like too, but need to work out costings before committing, if it end up being close to the price of a new than obviously not worth it

Not sure if its of any use, But I once got some rims powdercoated for my old jap import starlet, They were silver type pre coating, all they did was acid dip them to clean them then coated them, unsure if they etched them with anything though.
Cheers.

Thank for everyone's input and thoughts and help.
This is the rear bar I wanted to get.

Things changed last night with some semi-negative feedback regarding the adjustable mechanism of the wheel carrier going out. Of alignment and taking couple hours to fix each time it happens. But he did go on to say it always happens when driving over corrugations for long periods.
But the real reason for not going ahead is my wife had a dental emergency last night and total bill will be between 2.5k to 3k. Bloody hell. Oh well, I guess wasn't meant to be.

Ah mate that stinks but I can relate 3k damage on my teeth after biting a meat pie from a servo! But the misalignment issue with the bar isn't something you want that's for sure.
