Can someone recommend me someone around the Ipswich area who can convert my truck from auto to manual at a reasonable price, i've read on forums people having done the conversion for as low as 1200..

1200 sounds pretty cheap. A box is atleast 500. Then a clutch another 500 and flywheel, pedal box, master cylinder possibly boosted, slave cylinder, lines, interior parts to suit and a small bit of wiring for your reverse lights I think you would be doing extremely well to do it for 1200 doing it all yourself.

Why convert it 2 manual when you now have 2 auto boxes???? Auto's rule :):):)

You could get away with but it would make drivability better with different ratios.

How much you recon a conversion will cost? That 1200 figure was what I've read on other posts and forums...

Found out why I got the second box for free, it has been thrashed and is basically a big paperweight, tried the TPS I got, made no difference, tried the TCU that came with it made no difference, I either want to get this car running trouble free, which so far looks like its going to cost a fortune, do a conversion to make it a manual, once done, far less to go wrong, or a mate of mine is sourcing another car which is aready manual, and wants to do a swap as he desperatly wants my body etc, I know it will be a down grade to a degree, but I think for my health it would be better to cut my losses and do something like that, as the stress this thing has caused me has had me in hospital with a heart attack once already....

You probably shouldn't own a motor vehicle then if that's the case. Even brand new cars these days can have on going issues like yours and they are new cars, it's all over the forums too and a most that you read about have under 100k on them.
It isn't something silly like an earth strap is it? It may have been broken or not connected properly. These can have breaks in them that aren't visible so maybe try replacing all your earths.

If you did all the work yourself and used good gear I would be preparing to spend atleast 2k

I got too to run a new earth strap from the box to the body. My problem went away before I did this though.
And on the subject of heart attacks lol, I mucked around with my problem for over 6 months with the vehicle off the road for 3 months. I spent over $4200 and did not fix a thing! One thing I know is that I'm never getting rid of this box. It will outlast the motor and the car, and probably the next motor lol.....

I was told just to make a new one. Attach one end to the body/chassis and the other to whichever nut/bolt is easily accessible on the box. I was.going to make mine put of an old jumper lead but didn't get around to it before the problem went away. Apparently it's the lock up solenoid that can suffer from a bad earth. Not sure if that theory is proven or disproven by you getting the solenoid to work with power straight to it.
