Anyone had to remove their heater core lately? Do you really have to remove the whole dash? If so how do you go about removing the airbags?

Not looking forward to this job!!!:frown:

GU3 with passenger and drivers side airbags. Does the passenger side just unplug and come out as part of the dash? What about removing steering wheel?

Yes the dash needs to come out.

I think you can get away without removing the drivers side airbag, just need to undo the bolts on the steering column.

Yes the airbags have connectors, they are yellow.

I would recommend you read the workshop manual section "RS" SRS- precautions, before starting.

Make sure you disconnect batteries before starting to the remove the dash.

It would also be a good idea to take photos as you go, it might make it easier for you when putting it back together.

Thanks heaps Yendor, I'm glad you pointed me to the right section of the manual as I probably would of left the batteries connected. It certainly looks like a big job but one I feel a lot more comfortable doing now that I know I can disconnect the airbags.

Thankyou to everyone who contributed it is much appreciated!!
