Hi all. Really appreciating all the help I've been getting on this forum. Just trying to fix up all the little things on the patrol and noticed most of the vacuum hoses are blocked or just not attached and was hoping someone could help me out with where they go. The three that come out from the bottom of the carby on the driver side have been blocked. The two spouts that come out from under the air cleaner on the same side has no hoses attached. Two hoses coming from a thing on the fire wall go nowhere. Also the one that comes off the top of the centre of the air intake pipe( I think it's a heat sensor or something) has no hose attached. If anyone could tell me what goes where and what they are for it would be great. Cheers

Yeh I've got the manual and it gives you a bit of an idea of what's what but because they are all blocked off or missing the hoses it doesn't help too much. Need more detail than what it gives

1) Air temp sensor inside cleaner box has a in & out lines.
Out is connected underneath the air box and leads around under the box leading towards the air intake path
and then connects to cold air butterfly vac cyl.

2) Carby's upper most vac fitting.
located- rocker cover side of carby
connects to very small vac cyl.
this is located, upper most on rear of carby linkages.
it's a very short hose, that only goes approx 1 cm away from each fitting.

3) Just below No 2 above, is the BCDD and it's fitting connects to.
Fitting underside air cleaner box, located rear of air box , rocker cover side.

4) 4 way Tree vac fitting below mixture screw.
front connects to carbon canister diaphram.
next 2, go parallel straight up to underneath to air cleaner box twin fittings.
but the front 1 of these has a restrictor - reducer inside the connecting rubber hose.
so dont just chuck out the old lines, check for restrictor beforehand.
if your fitting new hose,
cut beside remove clean & insert into new rubber vac line.
a little push with something blunt to help restrictor in.
if your wondering the other 1 is for the idle compensator.

5) The last 1 at the rear from memory is smaller size.
Is for the air-con solenoid, that's up on fire wall drip rail.
just connects in line to solenoid then to throttle nudger vac cyl,
located above/rear of carby linkages.

think that's it,
good luck.

Thanks heaps robo. Great info. I'll go and hook them all back up this arvo. Is there a reason why anyone would just block them off like they have?

yep.
possibly faulty parts the lines are connected to.
trying to fix a dirty carby.
thinking car would go better with them blanked off.
didn't remember which was which when removed.

follow the checks in the gen nissan manual for testing the various parts the lines are connected to.
to be sure you have every thing working as it should be.
cheers
