About 18 months ago I asked this question:
http://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forums/showthread.php?5867-Rusty-frames-on-the-rear-side-sliding-windows-GQ
and it generated a bit of discussion and I got a contact to these guys in QLD:
http://myworld.ebay.com.au/autoglasswarehousebrisbane/&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2754
I rang them and discussed the issue I had but sat on the information, checking eBay every now and then and this thread brought it back to mind:
http://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forums/showthread.php?18215-GQ-Shorty-Windows
and I bought these:
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/251011717817?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649#ht_668wt_961
Turned up today and I intended to sit on them for a while.
I opened them up to check to make sure they were correct and then started checking out the rusty frames on the car. Gave them a little tug to see how hard they would be to get off and be blowed they almost fell off in my hands. Well, that meant I had to do something about the hole in the side of the car. (it's raining here and it doesn't have undercover parking) Long story short I managed to get one in with a bit of struggling and fiddling about.
I'll do the other one in a few days and put some pictures up and some more detailed hints on what I've found to make it easier.
Pretty pleased with the result. :)
