I bit the bullet & shelled out $810 (includes freight) to get a PatrolDocta rear bar for my GQ. Well It arrived & the powder coat was falling off in places. No biggy I got it re-powder coated $80. I actually stoved the rear quarter in the day before the bar turned up. I had to wait nearly 2 months to get the GQ into the panel shop & get it fixed. Got it out then the clutch went awol. Got it back last week. Went to fit up the rear bar today & the bolt holes don't line up. There is no chance of getting that bar to bolt up. So now I have a $900 Rear bar That is useless. I have emailed pics to patrolDocta Asking them to fix the issue. I will keep this post updated with the out come. Cheers Jono.

Bugger mate..... I have been tempted by these cheap bars but I think I will stick to my plan of making my own.

I have all the steel here I have collected in the last few months and I just need the swivels.. I even have a donor car sitting here I can use to make it ..

Good luck with dealing with these people and hope they come to the party??

I wouldn't make you own. Just buy one of those cheapies' and make your own brackets to make it fit. Atleast it will look better than a make your own style one...Unless your real good at it.

I have contacts around and even if at the end it costs me $800 it will be made well.. I save a heap by having the steel here.

Not sure how these bolt up ,but r u 100% sure its right for your model Could be GU or god forbid a T model.
Maybe your chassis is twisted/bent, my monies on wrong one sent,

@ BA $300 tops and you'd have an awesome custum bar as discussed

Theres nothing wrong with my chassis. Ive got another bar here that came on another parts GQ I bought. It an't what I want, but I did fit it up just to make sure my rig was straight. it bolts up fine. The bar from Patroldocta is a GQ bar. Just now where near fitting cause the holes are out. I hope they come to the party, Cause I don't really want to drive 1500klm return trip. Who's BA? & I don't remember discussing anything? But my memory is shocking.

Thanks. They want me to send it back after a bit if fiddling & still not fitting. He's going to fit it to his jig & if it's out he'll send me another, if not I get a refund. I've got 5 GQ's & my bolt holes on my main rig are in the middle as all 5 are within .5mm out between them all. So I think his jig is out or this bar is out. I'll keep you's posted.

Well the bar is on. I ended up taking it to an engineering mob I use some times. they plugged & re-drilled the holes. I discussed this with Patroldocta prior to getting the bar fixed. It was agreed that they will reimburse me the cost $120 & $55 to re-powder coat. I sent through my bank details but guess what. No re-reimbursement & no response. Must say that his attitude towards me was not the best either. There was no way that there was a problem with his product (Bullsh#t). Anyhow I for one will never buy another Patroldocta product, His attitude stinks! I will be contacting fair trading seeking compensation.

Update, He has decided to pay $120 of the $230 I am out of pocket. I am not trying to tell anyone to steer clear of them, they make some nice looking gear. I just don't except his attitude that nothing could have been possibly wrong with his bar. I had a kamar bar hear that bolted up to all 5 of my GQ's. His bar wouldn't bolt up to my rig or my other GQ a wrecker with a quarter chop. so make of it what you will. Cheers Jono.

I would make him pay it all, maybe a few pot shots with one of Matt's rifles will help change his mind *L*

Well Todd, the last person that ripped me off $1200 was from Lavers Hill VIC. He got a visit from me & my mate. Cost him the $1200, $500 interest,Expenses & learned not to f@#k with the wrong person. I have been arrested twice since then. I really didn't feel like a holiday, so I thought I'd go through the legal system.

Defiantly make your own. I did, all you need is a welder and a angle grinder. Cost me $100 in steel and a box of beer for a mate to help. Looks awesome an is strong enough for me to use my hi lift jack on.

They are easy enough to make for the GQ, try the wreckers and get a front bar
and cut all the Bs off it, then 2 plates to pick up chassis rails. drill to suit.
stub axles if needed, heat treat welds or arms will break off. Or get your sheetie to fold up a "C" section
with lower edge on 45. More that happy to help any vics make their own
