G'day Trendsetter's,

I am after a farked TD42 injector pump for photo's. (to catalog step by step) I want to pull apart and photo all the components of a TD42 injector pump and photo the reassembly process. I will then return the injector pump back to the person.

My aim is to show our members the internal workings of the TD42 injector pump. How to tune the pump and how to modify the pump!

PS, i will pay for the delivery and return postage.

G'day dads tractor,

Thanks mate, please make sure that it is not a good pump!

PS, I want to be able to pull it apart, photo all the o rings and seals and then reassembly the pump again using the old seals. Hopefully, with the photo's, i should be able to write up some sort of a guide reference for the Nissan Patrol TD42 pump for you all.

Its sucking air and blows white smoke on start up misses and generally runs like a hairy goat . Every man and his dogs had a play and running high boast so back to factory setting and a clean would be good .Have you any idea how much for o ring and seal kit might as well do that while its pulled down and are you well enough .

Wine _Maker No we have put new injectors in and when running it starts like there is a fuel / air problem (white smokeand misses) and then it clears up but under 1/2 or full throttle it soots (overfuels = blacksmoke) bigtime Checked timing OK so if RLI is able and is well enough maybe a project his call.

G'evening mate,

You have got me on that one, i do not have a clue on how much a re-build kit is worth. However, leave it with me, i will make some inquiries. If anybody reading this post does know, could you please advise us?

The methods - to find defects with only help of exhaust gases color and temperature.

1st chart:

Smokiness

- 1 Carbon black (soot or grime or smut so much different meanings in dictionary) - black smoke.
- 2 Motor oil - blue smoke, temp lower than 100 celsius degree.
- 3 Fuel - blue and white smoke temp lower than 100 degree.
- 4 Water- white smoke temp lower than 70 degree.

2nd chart:

H - normal value, "+" - high value, "-" - low value

1st column - Engine power
2nd column - Smokiness at idling regime
3rd column - Smokiness under full load
4th column - Regulator whirls

Rows descriptions:

1. Tuning, too much fuel supply under full load, high frequency of regulator rotates.
2. Too low value of fuel supply and low boost pressure, control unit in emergency mode, disfunction of mass airflow sensor.
3. Disfunction in exhaust gas recirculation system, stoppage in air filter, turbo compressor failure.
4. Extremely early fuel supply time, hard sound of burning.
5. Too late fuel supply moment.
6. Failure of fuel injection timing advance mechanism.
7. Defect of nozzle, hits in process.
8. Wrong fuel.
9. Oil waste (blue smoke). Failure of engine or turbo compressor.

But I'm not sure that this chart will be useful in my english interpretation.

G'day Dingorunner,

Mate, if you have a stuffed one that i can pull apart step by step and photograph all the parts. That would be fantastic! I can also demonstrate to all the forum members how to tune the injector pump by demonstrating how to do the various tunes with photos.

I await your response!

G'day folks,

A special thanks to Dingorunner who contacted me today with the fantstic news that he has sourced a GU 4.2 diesel injector pump for our photo step by step pull a part and resemble project.

PS, is their anyone out their with a spare rocker assemble tube to suit an early model 4.2 diesel engine to help Dingorunner out. Any assistance will be really appreciated.
