Thought you may like to see this A 1940 WW11 shell from what I have no idea, got my BFF to make 2.
The inside is tin plated the lip is rolled and white tape covers a rude word. When I was in the Beer Olympic drinking team in the 80s I think this was my weapon of choice , leave it in ice to chill holds one bottle of beer and very heavy, other shell is 1927, Keeps drink very cold for a long period. Used to be highly polished but the years have taken there toll, great for drinking out of.

Nice ones mate id love one of them, or even one made like a stubble cooler that way the top of the bottle would look like its a loaded round lol and line it with foam or rubber.
Are they of the same gun?

Heres more brass bling , if any navy know the ship etc PM me as he's in melb.
Have seen some huge shells working in the Army barracks years ago, they'd leave a mark the casing alone was 3ft high, tempted to get a lump of 4" steel turned to make the projectile end. fantastic door stop IMO. show big one if I find it given up smokes so dont need it but where it is thats another matter
I know I cleaned and polished it not long ago.

Theres an old brass fire nozzle in our local RSL which got converted into a bong back in the 70's. Apparently the locals got back to the RSL after Skyhooks were playing on an old farm stage in the paddocks not far from there....lol

So who made the original?

threedogs

The original tankards was made by my BFFs at Qantas, years ago, two were made,
used to take them to the pub , they would fill from tap for $2, yeah $2. totally destroyed
by days end. Heaps of stuff was done, copper fire extinghishers polished.that was the 80s
the 70s were better when Ansett had the chrome plant running,
Heres other shell base says 4.5 in but measures 6.5 in made 1980 ,firing cap 1982
I'll put pic of 1927 shell later marks might be interesting to some
