So, after a long trip over Xmas and a few day trips, the passenger side rear flare on the GU snapped off. It was hanging on for quite a while by the top clip, and then it snapped after the door was closed on it.

So firstly,
there are a few genuine replacement options (http://www.patrolapart.com.au/product/flares-trims/nissan-patrol-genuine-door-flare-passenger-side/) available but they are clearly more expensive...
are they worth the extra $$'s or should i use a second hand part from a wrecker, OR go a non-genuine ebay part (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NISSAN-PATROL-GU-REAR-DOOR-FLARE-DRIVERS-SIDE-SIDE-/221032232112?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item33768c34b0)? i want the part to match the car!
unfortunately i need the clips and rubber edging as well.

Secondly:
How difficult is the job? i plan on having the rig for a long time and i want it done properly. I assume the panel beater who did the job previously should have been able to ensure it didn't shake loose but clealry not.

Any tips/ advice welcome!

Thanks in advance!

You may be able to fibreglass it back together, see no reason why not to get one from the wreckers

I don't think the wreckers cost is much cheaper than the ebay option? Is there an obvious concern with the ebay flare?
PITA...i should of fixed the damn thing as soon as it came loose!

I have an ebay one on mine. Its ok but i can tell it isnt original as the gaps not quite right. Much cheaper though.

Cheers folks.
yeah i think i might bite the bullet to get the original look as against an ebay job. While I think the parts are a rip off, i may as well do it right.

Does anyone have any tips on how its repaired? I'm surprised the last one's clips snapped and it popped out. The top clip looks solid but i'm not sure how i'd ensure the next one didnt do the same thing.
