You got it, I grew up in Reynella and would go there all the time to explore the caves and catch yabbies in the creek.
It looks a bit different now with the southern expressway next to it.

There was an old mine and pump house just a bit west of that photo. the chimney stack was still there a few years ago don`t know if its still there with all the new housing going in. I have the drawings and history of the mine stored some were .

That is the Worthing copper mine engine house and chimney stack and they should still be there as i believe they were heritage listed.
You may want to put up a different photo, you put up Bublacowie military museum in Feburary.

Bugga I wondered why it was resized.
Going by some history the mine was a bit of a scam by the owners who floated it but the mine never made any returns and was abandoned and left a few people broke.

On the sand dune theme they say there is a brand new 60s in the Simmo.
It broke down and was covered by shifting sand and never been recovered.
And its ghost may be heard as you walk past the Billabong LOL

The bungle bungles are not all bee hives as you can see. Piccaninni gorge has a 3 day hike if you feel inclined to do that sort of thing.
If you intend to do a trip to the Bungles alow your self a min of 3 days and if possible do a chopper flight

That sounds about right. I've never actually been to the pub in the paddock lol. The boags strong arm logo isn't actually that old, they just made them as a bit of a gimmick.
There's a water fall 15 minutes from anywhere in tas;-)

the pub came up for sale recently and I did have serious thoughts of having a go for it but swmbo talked me out of it.
When you get a chance Lucas drop in and check it out The beer they feed the pig is watered down but I still think when they turn it into bacon it would taste pretty good

Yeah heard about it plenty, driven past it a few times, used to live in scamander not too far away. It's just one of those pubs that get a reputation (usually from tourists and visitors) that far exceeds it. Lol, its just a pub in a paddock after all!

Yeah mate it`s an amazing place would not have liked to have been there when it happened
Two days after we visited there we were lucky enough to see a meteorite burn up in clear blue skies
Have no idea how big it was or how far away it was but it left a very long tail of very white and yellow light and for about 3 hours after you could still see the path it took. The path was a lot darker blue to the rest of the blue sky.

so take your metal detector and scan the outback worth more that gold
Could pay for your trip, looks awesome cut looking at styrations,,

Not a bad guess TD, but TPC has it correct. It is the cattle trough at Myalls Bore, about 7kms out of Derby, WA. Originally built in 1916/17 to service 500 head of cattle at a time (not sure of it's length) & later extended to 120 metres. Just behind where I stood to take the photo is the 1500 year old Boab prison tree.

Not much shows up NE of Kalgoorlie on the map. Looks like it was a fairly significant infrastructure. Was it a processing plant of some sort? Can it be seen by today's tourists or only accessible to those in the industry? I recall passing a few large mines out in the goldfields between Kalgoorlie, Kookynie, Laverton & Leonora, but no infrastructure like that which we could get close too. Or are we further north than the Leonora - Laverton road?

This is old infrastructure and is accessible to the public and it is still a working mine but it has significance in our history around 1969

They are still mining there but access to the old mine is no problem and if anyone is out that way its well worth the visit
In September 1969 Prosiedon shares were $0.80, in October they were $12.30 then by February 1970 the price was $280 then the big crash Google is my friend for some interesting reading

In the 2nd pic is an old motor, broken beer bottles & an old battery. extra brownie points if you can identify the motor (I have no idea)
In the 3rd pic is an old timber framed fridge which someone obviously wanted dead. Included for TD's interest.
Even more brownie points if you can tell us what the failed plans for this place were.

Your powers of deduction are holding you in good stead TD, it is in SA, & not a million miles from Leigh Creek, although i wouldn't describe it as in the 'Leigh Creek area' as such, you'll need to pin it down a bit more to take the biscuit.

I stopped off at Lake Harry Ruins last year on my way back from Birdsville.
Had trouble picking it from your photos though, there are so many ruins through SA that look similar.

Did you take a shower there? It has to be the most exposed shower I've ever seen! Getting my gear off for a wash there was quite an experience!

I gave the shower a miss, had stayed at Mungerannie the night before so had just showered.
Would have liked to have come across it about a week earlier, we were 9 nights in the Simpson without a shower.

It is a bridge on the victorian rail trail.

Having never been there, I'm reliant on Google.

Has the pic been flipped? The closest pic on Google has the bridge curving the other way.

No, pic has not been flipped.
It is on the Victorian rail trail I think.
There were several trestle bridges on the line, not sur how many remain.
I believe this is the only one with a curve in it,
I think it is also supposed to be the highest trestle bridge in Victoria.
