G'day all, I have a 2002 4.8 TI with a 2" over standard lift (+ airbags in rear coils). I did the lift myself - easy enough. Dobbinsons Springs and Shocks. 295/75/R16 BFG ATs.

My wife and I took our 4 kids out of school 2 years back and did a 23,000 km tour of Oz. over 5,000 on gravel including the Savana Way. The 4.8 didn't miss a beat.

Cheers, Perthburts

Hey Perthburts,

Nice rig you got there - nothing beats a Patrols reliability as far as I'm concerned.

Welcome to the forum, get involved and enjoy :)

G'day mate - welcome aboard. Sounds like a good rig - make sure you throw some piccies up in the members ride section old mate. Plenty of good information, great people and a good laugh to be had on the forum.

G'day Perthburts.

Great to see a family of Sandgropers on here. I live about 130k north of Albany.

Quite a few members from WA's Western Patrol Club on here, including me (gotta plug our Club)

Feel free to chat and read.

Take care out there.

Hi perthburts,

I just had my first kid and that is what sparked my first Patrol. It is a little more family friendly than the zuk with only two seats :)

Welcome Perthburts,

Hope you enjoy this forum, its a pretty good place. I like the sound of your rig. I have a 2004 Ti 4.8l patrol. What sort of fuel economy did you get? Were you happy with that, (fuel econ').
I did a trip to Cape York towing a camper trailer and by my estimations the biggest usage was 25L/100 in the heavy going parts and 22L/100 in the easy going parts.
Was it an easy job to put in the airbags on the rear coils? Thats something I want to do

Cheers ,
Paulie
