Hi again,
I have had my first 4x4 for over two years now a 98 GU 2.8 and have used this helpful web site to help me get up to speed owning a patrol.
I have just returned from overseas to find that while a family member was using my patrol the transfer case has gone and I need some advise on how to proceed with the fix. I have been quoted for a replacement transfer assembley at $480 for a second hand unit from the local wreckers and $5200 new from a dealer. I am also not sure where to find the number on the existing transfer, to check I have the right unit.

I have a 1998 GU 2.8 turbo diesel which I think is the y61 rd28et .

Any and all help would be appreciated.

Cheers

Welcome to the forum Sprout, you should get a better response by asking this question in a different section as a lot of people dont read the intro's.

Hi mate and welcome to the forum. As AB said above - if you post in the relevant section you will get lots of responses - not everyone responds in the Intro's - more they just say Hi!

Thanks for the welcome.

Very much jumping in feet first as driven by a fix atm, as I guess is often the case here.

Cheers
