First up this is not Patrol related, but I expect all leaf sprung vehicles to be similar.

I have imported 4 airbags & top brackets from the USA (much cheaper) for our Nissan Civilian bus.

The bottom of each bag bolts to the bump stop plate held in place by the u bolts which secure the leaf springs to the axle. The bump stop plates need to be removed in order to drill a hole for bag securing bolt.

I am uncertain whether this is a task I want to undertake or not. Can anyone explain the process required to remove the u bolts?

Thanks
Cuppa

Jack the car up on stands from the chases and then undo the u bolts its that simple if your axle was underneath I'd put the car on stands then jack the axle up to hold in place

ive put airbags in 3 hiluxes and a ford ranger and they are mostly the same mine have never needed drilling though but I'm sure you will be fine to do it yourself

Being u bolts of that size you will need a decent rattle gun or breaker bar other than that it's as straight forward as above.
