Is the guard rail around the tanks an Aussie invention if you'd call it that???

Hi threedogs,

The so-called "guardrail" around the vehicles is known as Bar Armour, the idea is that it either catches, disrupts or causes pre-detonation on an Rocket Propelled Grenade ( RPG - also known as a bazooka), thus making the RPG inefficient or destroying it before it has a chance to go bang ! - I don't know where it was invented, but I have an idea it may have been a British idea developed during the invasion of Iraq.

I hope this answers the question ! :)

Thanks to liking the pictures as well

bar armour was designed by germans in WWII for the Wehrmacht, it used to be caller slate armour, there are a couple of different designs now, even a wire rope mesh, but the stop RPGs from detonating as the tip needs to contact to go
