Saw these a while ago..

What I don't get is why they didn't have snatch straps or winch connected to land, just incase...

He really must be a few nuts shorts..

First one stupid, second one stupidly brave. Both way too fast for crossing.

My 1st water crossing was just as deep and fast flowing. Extremely dangerous and had to be cautious. I think.

Definitely stupid, if you can't walk it why would you drive it.
Doesn't make sense?

You need to have your water crossing training updated mate, doing such highly dangerous and risky crossing could have your Patrol "duco" completely ruined with water................next time such stunt is attempted again.

Cheers

The first vid is a fake I reckon,, doesn't even sound like a patrol!!! The second one should have kept going, he would have made it.....maybe not across but down the river...hahahahhah

Hey Kris

That first one is definitely real mate. No bonnet scoop so its a 4.8 petrol which makes it even dumber. One of the 4wdtv 4.8s has an aftermarket SS exhaust and sounds identical to that (pox).

He was an idiot and bloody lucky!

You're a bluddy risk taker, Mego. There's no way I'm gunna ride with you.....unless I've got my selt belt on. PML.

The first one looks like the Burgoine Gap track crossing of the MacAlister. That can really get a flow up.
Wonder what his mate decided to do?

Tap this.........

I have seen that one before, and thought about how lucky he was to hit ground again and be able to drive on out.....

We tried one day at the Thomspon after some rain, and couldn't walk it even though the water was just above the knees....

General rule is that if you can't walk it, you can't drive it.

We thought that with our lifted trucks, it might be OK, as most of the water wouldn't be hitting the sides as much, but we still strapped each other up for safety sakes..... I was going to go first, but one of the other vehicles was in front, and since I was prepared to give it a go, he decided that with that bit of confidence he might as well be first....... he didn't even get half way, and the vehicle started losing traction so we all immediately backed on up and out, turned around went the other way.....

Shows that the general rule has some merit

It was so scary with all that white water, I got my mates kids to walk it first, it took so much out of her, she rested half way through, grasping for dear life to a rock. 25325
