Am looking to upgrade my GU ute's DX 2.5 configeration seating with a recaro or similar drivers seat and a passenger bucket seat. Has anyone had experience with this conversion and could offer any advice or pit falls to beware of, or may have a spare passenger seat after upgrade? I see the "dept. of interior" can supply nice centre consoles. I am fed up with everything sliding off the passsenger seat and ending up under it!!

Many on here have done the Dunny door seat conversion and there are many others that have gone the after market seat but one thing I do know is not to go with anything too racy as it is a pain in the bum getting in and out of...

Go with Megamonster's seat conversion.... $$$$$$$

Regardless of what seats you retro fit, even factory 2 bucket style in a 3 seater is a seating alteration and entails a mod plate in most states

Most Auto accessory shops sell half decent buckets reasonably cheap.
You may find you have the bolt holes under the carpet already for OS models
Use Patrol or Nissan runners off any seat, might make it easier as well
Some flat steel easy peasy

Very comfy. 10 hrs straight in the drivers seat, EASY.

And cheap! Years ago used to scab around for buckets out of xyz at the wreckers because anything aftermarket was bulk $. Now $350 gets you a set of ADR approved recliners
