Seems to be based on a similar design as the GoPro Hero. I have no idea of the build & quality but i have purchased gear from them before and have been pretty impressed.

Well, back up to $199. I was doing some research to make sure it was decent and missed out :( The only thing that had me thinking was the 170deg view which I thought might have been a bit wide..
There lots on ebay but these look the goods.
EDIT: ColdComfort...reports on design, quality, battery lifer, etc, etc please

Would be interested to know if the accessories are compatible with the GoPro???
Note though guys, i had a VERY quick read of the specs and did not compare but did note that from memory it is about Half the output quality of the Silver Gopro Hero3 and at $199 about $100 cheaper. I nOte that it has a couple of accessories though which is nice. i wonder if it is the same size as the Gopro2 maybe??

Be Quick! This is a GoPro Hero2 i think and ends in a couple of hours. I think this is a Great buy if your int he market and willing to buy the Kogan one. The Hero2 is still a higher spec than the Kogan and would be a great unit.

OK, Here's a great comparison between AEE SD-21 and GOPRO 2 and 3
Make sure you watch in HD....on these results and price I just bought the AEE SD-21
my own observations, the SD-21 looks to be better then the Hero2 but close(comparable) to the 3..Like I said just my observations.

One thing I noticed in the vid is that both the GoPro cameras had a lot more sky in them, meaning that the cameras were adjusting for more light compared to the AEE. That aside though, there's not a lot of difference in the quality of the vids.

Waterproof to 60 mtrs is amazing, I've bought waterproof housings for cameras before and they were $300 or more for the housing alone.

Yeah I'm hoping the postage will be prompt. It states "in stock" and dispatched within 24 hrs.
I reckon pretty good buy for the price

Might lend it to RLI on the Cape trip, he can do some underwater crocodile photography for us. Hope he remembers to let go of the camera at the last minute. Don't want to have to retrieve it from the crocs gut. Or I could just tie a cable to it and pull it out.

OK, had to buy a new Micro SD Card. Camera works fine but I can't download the files to the PC, keeps wanting me to format the card.
Manual tells me 'The Media Player software is preferred for playing a file'

Yes mate, Got some footage with it today. Plug it in and PC reckognises it as a Removable Drive then I just click on the file and it plays with quicktime( my preferred choice)
As its a .mov format you will need a media player that can play that format...99% of them should so Windows Media Player will do the job.
Not sure why your PC is asking you to format card...something not right there. I formatted my card in the camera first as it asked me to.
Very happy with the ease of operation and the features but the vid I took today has a lot of glare from the winscreen as I had it mounted behind it. As some stages it seems as it was over exposing with so much light.... Might have to check and adjust the settings.
I'll upload a bit of footage to Utube shortly
Let me know how you go mate....
jack
7th February 2013, 04:11 PM
Thanks Kris, I formatted the card in the camera as well. I'll try it on the PC later, just tested it on the work laptop but that does have Windows Media Player installed. Hopefully the PC recognises it later tonight.
Might even try out the underwater function if I get down the coast for a dive over the weekend.

Ok, heres a bit of footage from this morning. There seems to be a bit of glare from the windscreen as I had it mounted on the dash. Also the camera takes a little while to adjust to bright light ( direct sun) so it looks like its over exposed for a bit (especially when I turn left) .
There seems to be next to no shake at all which is great.
Audio is Ok but a little quiet but the unit can have an external mic. You can hear the radio well and the firies no problems so probably all you need. Conversation can be heard easily in other vids.
Overall very happy with it for $150, especially all the goodies it comes with.
You'll need to play the vid in HD to see the quality. no adjustments made to vid.
