Hey all

Finished a rebuild of my zd30 last week (cracked pistons), also did (well tried) to do manual to auto conversion on it, finally fired up the car this morning and it turned over no worries and all sounds and runs fine motor wise, but the auto is another story, I have put a nomad valve body and compushift auto computer in the car from wholesale automatics, the drama I am having is I select drive on the Tbar, but the car simply does not move in any gear, tried transfer case in 2H,4H,4L, all the same result just does not seem to engage, just had the pan back off and checked the valve body and all looks fine in there, is there something I am overlooking ? Would really appreciate any help?????

Shouldn't you be ringing Wholesale Automatics,
Does if show any faults ???
maybe disconnect the battery for a while

Might be simple but is the trans fluid the right type and correct amount? Might take a bit for the fluid to get into the torque converter?
How's the level in the transfer case?Even if it was an electrical/computer problem you'd think it would engage a gear at least.

Hey

Yes I will be speaking to wholesale automatics tomorrow but was just seeing if anyone here could shed some light while i still have time to work on it today,

Filled the auto box this morning, its reading full on the dipstick, also filled the transfer case, how would i get more fluid into the torque converter? just let the car run in neutral or in gear ??

fitted a heavy duty valve body to my zd30 and had the same problem. because it is a exchance valve body you my have left the drive linkage pin in old valve body. to check this you need to take sump cover off again and hope you have not sent old valve body back to wholesale auto with linkage pin in it.

got it all up and running mate, what do you mean by "linkage pin" ? just the little arm thing that connects to the valve on the side of the valve body?

Happy with my DP chip I used to have it set on 7-8 but was blowing clouds of black smoke under power.
Backed it off to 5 runs like a swiss watch now and tows my camper no probs at all, very happy camper.

its been a while since mine was fitted but i think it looked like a solid round pin 100mm long 20 dia. that fits in the side of the valve body and connects to your gear selecter.
