G'Day all.
What are your thoughts on this one. I currently have a 5 inch lift in the old girl, and have a perfect opportunity to buy a set of 5, 38.5 inch super swampers. They will be a second set purley for off road use.

Reckon they will fit under the truck? I think ill have to throw a 2 inch body lift under her, but if anyone can confirm this that would be great.

Cheers Glen

Might need a body lift and cut the guards as well, thats a big diameter,
Newby would have a better idea

Even with a body lift you will need to do a pretty big cut to all 4 guards. Front and back edge of the front guards for sure and probably the same at the back depending on how your lift is setup.

That is Allot of tyre to turn too. What engine do you have and what diff ratios are you running? You might go to the trouble for it them and then can't drive uphill???

Thanks guys.

Not to keen on cutting the guards for a set of bush tyres.
All the suspension was done by previous owner using the full snake racing set up. The front diff was moved forward to have equal amount of room for the 35's i have atm. Factory diffs aswell.

With the 35's (And loaded with camping gear and roof tent) I can out drag my brothers v8 ute, so I have no shortage of power from the tb42.

You might achieve more with some reduction gearing like Rock hoppers. A set of silverstone tyres
Twin locker in there and not much will stop you IMO. Front axle already forward why start chopping up your 4x4
just to fit bigger tyres,?

I didnt really want to start cutting the truck up just for a set of tyres. Not alot stops her now thou. (Only thing i found so far was a huge bog hole with 5 feet of mud under 1 foot of water that i just sank in as i crept into it, whilst all the other pussed out and went round)

Lmao! Your friends sound pretty smart to me ;) I'd drive around that to if there was an option.

They won't fit without cutting the guards. I have a 5" with 2" body lift and won't fit 37's without a mild guard chop. I have a setup where the front diff is spaced forward and a ute you have twice as many guards to chop.

I'm a "go around kind of bloke" but have to say, love watching the "it's only mud and water so I'll have a crack" types!!! All in the name of good fun ... makes for a good days entertainment at times (and not so good as we all know)

I think the track I have down the back of my property is taking on the characteristics you've described mate!!! And it's claimed it's share if victims to date as well ... me included!! lol

I'd Tap That!!
