My Y61 GR/GU Shortie

Just joined, but great to see how friendly this forum is – thanks all.

Just a few images of my 1998 Y61 GR/GU SE SWB, I got her last October, and so far massively happy, she has performed flawlessly thought the flooding and snow the UK has had in the last 4 months or so. So far only mod is to have replaced the road tyres for some proper BF Goodrich A/T‘s.

Plans so far are a Snorkel to be fitted, some extra front lamps, and maybe a winch....

Any advice on which snorkel is any good?

Welcome aboard! Love the GU shorties, they weren't sold Down Under :(

Safari are top of the tree for snorkels. The Nissan ones are good too. Ebay copies seem ok but the fit and durability can be questionable.

Got mine from Jimnybits bizarrely: http://www.jimnybits.co.uk/shop/other-4x4-models/nissan/patrol/patrol-gr-y61-snorkel/prod_441.html No complaints and been through 4 feet+ of water (Theres a video on here somewhere). I like this one as it has the short curved bottom end rather than the long one along the wing.

Those shorties look sweet. Only ever seen one in Australia, guess it was a grey import. Would be a awesome project for a v8 hmm...
