I'm just replacing the el'cheapo fuel filter on my TB42 with the correct one. Theres an arrow indicating the direction of flow but if I connect the filter that way it seems to be a little bit out of line with the bracket and fuel lines. Have I got the direction of flow correct in the below awesome diagram??http://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forums/images/imported/2013/01/131.jpg

Awesome, cheers Todd:-)
They must have moved the bracket slightly when they put the other filter in.
Thanks again mate, you earned a(nother) beer

Do the hoses fit????
The Z387 is 8mm hose
The Z322 is 10mm hose

Yep it's on. Just seems upside down lol. The pipe that comes out of the filter at 90 degrees is lower in the engine bay than the other. I think it's right, it just looks weird

Just thought id bump this thread as I have another query that relates to the fuel filter.
When I turn the engine off, I see bubbles in the fuel running backwards against the normal direction of flow. Is this normal?

My filter does lean forward a bit, it's not straight up and down like in the awesome diagram

Do you see the bubbles run back when you turn the engine off?

Other question, the fuel filter supposed to be full or nearly full even if the engin is off right ?

Those bubbles may bleed off as system fills

Yeah I reckon youre right. Just thought maybe the bubble back flow when engine is turned off might have ment that there was leak in the pump diaphragm or hose or something but totally just guessing!

Hahaha fuel is all you diesel guys talk about! Too much, not enough, bad diesel, wind the pump up, white smoke, black smoke...... Lol the reliability of a diesel is slowly fading in a quest for power!
Haha
