GU turbo on GQ td42

bought a silver top GQ TD42 to replace the buggered TD42T in my 99 GU ute.

any probs putting the GU turbo setup on the GQ motor ?
thinking of leaving the GQ alt [with vaccuum pump] and injector pump on it

No dramas at all. As long as your not chasing big hp. Just throw it all on. I would swap the injector pumps though as the gq one is smaller so can't supply as much fuel as the gu one plus the compensator is good for tuneability.

Fits like a glove mate, you most likely won't have the bung on the side of the block for the oil drain on the silver top so will have to tap into the sump.

The rest should be straight forward. Oil feed from bung behind the left hand engine mount or around the other side to the oil pressure sender as my bung was seized shut. Water feed from radiator feed and water return on bung at bottom rear left hand side of block.

i can hear a "hissing" sound from one of the injector pipes on the GU when trying to prime it which is why i was thinking of leaving the GQ pump on it ... dunno if the pipes are the same as i havent seen the GQ engine yet.

They are the same.

turned out to be the injector pump was faulty not the motor so its all going again now without having to change the motor.
