found the source of loud snapping sound coming from my rd28t. never heard of it before.
a pre-combustion chamber broke away in cyl #2 and was happily smashing my cylinder to pieces while i was driving at 100kph! engine oil blowing out of the exhaust and splattering on the ground as well.
Just got the engine reconditioned, new head, 40thou oversize pistons (to clear the damaged bore), 5% extra on the pump, and new turbo.
any advice on running the engine in? and what exhaust size would be the most appropriate?
hopefully she'll last a while.
