I just brought a new snatch strap after I broke mine getting my bro in law out and just reading the instructions and no where on them does it say don't snatch off tow balls. Maybe we should get in contact with these companies and get them to put this on their instructions

And goodluck with that, think most have tried, need everyone to say I'm not buying Brand XXX strap if it has no warning.
Be great to see one of the makers first with the WARNING forcing others to follow from LOST sales, but sadly it aint gunna happen IMO
Think some do I'll make a few calls, answer was as stated just a general warning.

Recovery Straps are covered by a Mandatory Consumer Product Safety Standard

There is no requirement for the "towball" to be mentioned in the instruction leaflets or packaging BUT it MUST be mentioned on a permanent label stitched to the strap.

If the strap does not have a towball warning stitched to it then I would immediately advise the retailer as they are liable and also advise the ACCC.

I know from first hand that they will follow it up.

Also the retailers will drop the straps like a red hot poker as the fines and liabilities are awesome.

I do agree it would be good if it was included in the 'seperate' instructions (I believe some already do so) as well.

x 2 mate. It's pretty prominent on mine and also on my winch instructions too.

My pleasure... in a way I guess it is better 'permanently' on the strap anyway.

After all, who ever reads the instructions :hpfredgeorge1:
