I picked up a 2012 Patrol in November last year and so far have added bullbar, winch, snorkel, 2" lift on Dobinsons coils and Koni shocks. Still have to install UHF, roof bars, brake controller, Anderson plug, and driving lights. Will post pics of them when done. Here's some photos pre-lift:
24808 24809
24810 24811
24813 24816
24814 24815
And here's some of the lift in progress and completed:
24817 24821
24819 24825
24826

Hi mate - yeah - way too clean at the moment! Some of the first photos are when I bought it - the last were from today after the lift. Happy with the lift and the advice received from John at Zordo's Suspension was great. The rear is slightly higher for towing and load but levels nicely at about 150kgs.
In terms of ride there is very little difference from stock suspension in terms of feel and no caster correction is needed on 2' lifts. The Konis are re-buildable and adjustable (only issue is you have to take them off to adjust them) but I have them on the "comfort" setting at the moment!

Hey Jas, when is the draws and cargo barrier going in ??
lorrieandjas
21st January 2013, 03:33 PM
Hey Steve - not sure on those yet - issue I have with a cargo barrier is I have to cart around 4 kids from time to time and that makes it painful. Easy to pull the rear seats out and put them back in but takes longer to remove the barrier!

Looking good Jas, did you measure it before lift ,be interesting to see how much you got.
Pack smart in containers and you wont need a Barrier, go to 4x4 shop get some tie off points and use on those cover plates.
you thinking what I'm thinking, maybe a cargo net??

something with a bit of balls. Leave it with me, got pic in head. need paper quick.

Hi TD - from my estimate - 'cause I didn't write down the before height I am running at about 3 inches higher on the back and 2.5 inches higher at the front. The old shocks and springs were only 4 months old so hadn't really settled.

Where'd you measure from Jas? Mine is same as yours only done 3,000klm and is empty so I can measure and let you know what stock height is if you like.

Hi mate. Measured to the centre of the guard - basically from the ground until it was in line with the guard. I'll post a pic in a sec with the spot. That's be great if you could let me know!

From the ground to the bottom edge of the guard, line straight up centre of the wheel: Front 89.5cm, Rear 90.5cm.
Sound right?

Measured it to where the red X is - same on the front - not 100% accurate but close enough!

Hey mate - beat me to it! That's exactly right. Well bugger me - I'm 100cm on the rear and 97.4 on the front! Thanks for doing that for me!

Any time mate :)
Pretty close to 2" difference to mine. I have an alloy bar and no winch so that would probably account for the difference in the front not being closer.
D'oh closer to 4" stupid metric system!

Hey mate - yep 3" in the front and 4" in the rear - but I am running 33" ATZs so that brings it back to 2 in the front and 3 in the rear.

Measuring from the ground is wrong, what if one tyre is flat????
could get 150mm difference

Hi TD - yep - but as a rough guide its enough for me. Just out of curiosity - where would be the best spot to measure?

By rights the correct method is from bottom of hub to bottom of guard. (where your red x was) By the way, Jas, how is the ride?

Hi Steve - thanks for that - to be honest the ride is very little different in terms of feel from previously. Potholes, etc are less felt but in terms of steering, sway, etc all feels good. I did get it up on one wheel about a two foot high and feels pretty good in terms of articulation, etc. Return to centre on the steering is about the same (hence the no need for caster correction).

It's probably your steering dampner giving a false feeling of return to centre.
Just be careful at high speed

G'day folks,
Out of the blue, i had a phone call this afternoon from a good forum friend Jas (Lorrieandjas). It was fantastic to hear from him and he and his family are going fine. Due to his hectic work life style and looking after 15 month old twins he has been busy with life in general. Hopefully we will hear from the man soon.
Kind regards,
RLI
