It's free and can be a heaps of fun. I have been using a spot GPS locator for my bike riding exploits over the last few years. I am a member of the Aussie Farriders and the US Iron Butt Association. The Aussie Farriders have their own location page that members can easily associate them selves with. http://spotwalla.com/locationViewer.php?id=10 Each little flag can be clicked on to read its message. Each flag has its identifier that its owner has chosen. The home page where you can select a club or organization is at http://spotwalla.com/ My wife likes to use this when I am off on a long ride. Its a piece of mind thing.

I thought that with some going bush to some interesting places they might like friends and family to keep an eye on their progress.

Cheers all....

Will have a look into it hopefully later tonight, only downside I can see is not many members on here having a compatible device / spending the money on a spot device. Good idea to have one though

Thanks Coldcomfort.

Nice site. I think it would be great for family to use when i am on a Long trip for sure assuming that i have the correct device. is this something i can hook up through an iPhone or Android device?

the Drawback! This is linked directly to Google Maps and zooming in i can not only see where YOU live but i can USE STREET VIEW AND CHECK OUT YOUR HOUSE. I also know how far away from your house you are! I think you should be keeping pretty anonymous on that map and only your friends should know your call sign.

Thanks for the link though. I have removed your call sign from your post but would be keen to discuss this further with you.

Cheers MR
