Old Tele Track

Has anyone done the old Tele track in tents and swags, any feedback would be good,

The minister for war & finance wants to hire a camper trailer for the trip & I'm not sure,

You won't have a problem in tents mate...plenty do it in tents and lots of room around there...just not too close to the water...LOLOLOLOL

Daughter, son in law and their two kids did it in 2011. Took a rooftop tent but others in their group had tents and one guy used just a swag. They took some of the roughest options and didn't have any issues, 5 fourbys and not a puncture between them.

Did it in K-Mart tents in 1983 , only wish was that my zipper on tent wasn't broken other than that had a great time. even slept on the banks of the Jardine,

G`day Tonks.
Did the tele track in2010 6 vehicles 5 in tents 1 camper. We had no mechanical probs, flats or boggings. Just a great trip.
The only crossing we didn`t do was the last, Nolan's as there had been 9 vehicles lost there that season. discretion being the better part than valor. It can be an expensive exercise just to prove a point. I digress, tenting is easy and there are good camp sites all the way. There are a few difficult spot where a camper may cause a bit of grief, but as I said we had no probs. If you have time and spare cash I recommend you do Thursday and Horn Islands tour it`s a one day tour and if your into history its great.
