Hi all,

Chasing a replacement Reece hitch for my 2010 GU wagon.

Have seen a few GQ ones for sale second hand, can anyone confirm they will fit?

So i did eventually find a GU towbar to fit my Patrol.

I learnt along the way there the actual chassis spacing is the same, but if you are going replacing a towbar like I was, it pays to have exactly the same brand as you took off. Some of the GQ (and even GU ones) that I looked at had different number of holes, different spacing between holes etc to the genuine Nissan bar that I pulled off.

Also alot of them had a lower load rating than the 3500kg that the Nissan bar is stamped for

There are two tow ratings for the GU ones 2500KG the other 3500 kg
I went the heavier even though my 3lt t/d auto is only 2500KG

Same for me Threedogs, I have the Auto so only 2500kg (which im not keen to go over anyways) but i suppose i sorta like having the extra rating in the bar (meaning that it is stronger)

Like chicken soup wont do any good , but also wont do any harm also.
reason was shop didn't have lower rated one in stock if at all they make one

Yup it does not make sense that they even make them, surely the cost cant be that much lower for them to manufacture? I cant see how you could remove much material at all and still have it work.
