Hi all, thought I should introduce myself.

Turns out that I have had an account on here since May 2011. Must of created it when I was looking for my first GQ. It was an 1990 ST-3 and had heaps of fun. Long story short, the GQ went to a wreckers & I ended up buying a XR6 Turbo (I know, I know...).

After having to constantly keep an eye out for steep driveway, gutters or even speed humps, I'm back on the hunt for new patrol.

This time I'm looking for a 4.2 and hopefully some accessories already installed.

Belated welcome buddy, and i have to agree with MR not about the Q either. Get your butt back in a trol, Q or U they are BOTH tuff trucks.

Enjoy cheers Pete

Haha I'm on it!

Just have a new bub, so on a budget, looking to spend under $7000, probably more like $5 - $6k so I can spend a bit on kit for it.

So realistically, I'm looking for: GQ with a injected TB42 with gas, Manual trans A& less than 350,000 km.
Decent rubber and a 2" lift would be great to have already installed, any other accessories are a bonus.
It'll be the daily driver, so reliability and being legal is pretty important.

I'm only about 30mins drive from Toolangi which is where most of the off road stuff will happen I suppose.

Welcome mate, surely the best forum on the net. If you need it, you can get it, if you want to know it, just ask it.
Enjoy the sights and sounds of the greatest show on earth.

Hi mate. Welcome.
Good luck with the hunt. I recently spotted a couple of Q's over my way for sale which tick a few of your boxes. Not sure if there for grabs as its been a while.
Either way don't rush it, there are plenty to choose from. You just gotta hang out for the right one.
Good luck
Cheers

Thanks guys. I still have the falcon, so there is no huge rush to buy - well except for the fact I miss having my GQ.

So I have come across a nice looking GQ, but looking for some advice on it..

It's a '93 GQ Wagon.
TB42 Injected with dual fuel.
2" Lift, 33" Maxxis Bighorns
$6,800

The reason I'm not sure about it is because it's done 440,000 kms. The owner says that it had a reco engine 100,000 km ago which is nice.

What kind of things should I be worried about in terms of the wear & tear on the rest of the vehicle like gearbox, diffs etc?

I like look of the burgundy over gold too.
