Cool video keep the motor and make a turbo diesel v8 and keep the gu going. The y62 looks like a cruiser and won't handle the bush as well. It'll be a great tourer and tow vehicle

You'd be surprised. Y62 stock would flog any stock GU GQ out the scrub, even with mods they would struggle. As a tourer and tow car it would be awesome.

I hope you're right. But no diesel option why not use the v6 or make a v8 diesel for it. A couple of thousand km on the corrigations will sort it out and how the electrics handle dirt heat cold and vibrations.

Yep, totally agree with the diesel ...WTF are you thinking Nissan! but the V8's are very economical these days so you could be surprised on economy. Soon find out how they handle Aussie country, They've been out for 3-4 years now in the Saudi Arabia and other places so it would be interesting to see how they're going.
Bring it on!!! lol

I love the way they justify their decision to not offer a diesel. I am sure it is more economical 14.5L/100 Notice the ** next to that figure. I would be interested to see the figure with some right boot and a camper behind it. Also can you get the petrol when you take it out west.

No diesel is going to kill the sales of it. People will just buy a 200 series.

I met a bloke at Yalara few months ago towing a camper @ 1T with his beaut 200 v8 diesel ans using 18l/100. I was towing a 2.7t van with a 4 cylinder and getting 19/100.
All I heard from this bloke was how crap the v8s were. Not to mention the oil they burn....nearly as much as diesel...lol
.........on the move

I,m not to fussed on the shape and look,it looks a bit soft and that it wont handle much proper off road conditions. Its one thing to show off and say it can handle the steep decent but can it handle those conditions all day every day for a week or so, especially on corrugations and the whole diesel thing is going to kill them in sails.
P.S and bring back the 4.2td

i think thats was very put on and i also think they took out the front bumper when he came down that last drop thats why they cut and editted it there as well.
i don t really think that this patrol is aimed at serious 4wders more for people towing caravans and horse floats and soccer mums with too much money

Exactly....... would I buy one, nope......... would I turn it away if someone gave it to me, hell no......... still got me gq to play in, why not have a bit of comfort while doing some not so tough touring.
To tap, or not to tap: that is the question: Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, Or to take arms against a sea of troubles, And by opposing end them?

Nor would I. But I'd sell it and buy the real Patrol or a real Toorak tractor. X5 or Rangie Sport etc etc.
