My heart goes out to all Taswegians for what they are suffering at the moment with the bush fires.

Take care out there.

Long way from me luckily but they are in my thoughts and wishing all the best.
Rained this morning here, hopefully they got a bit down south. Now it's even hotter than yesterday!

Sh!t has just gotten real......
40 degrees in the south.
There's multiple fires all around my area. One is getting big at montumana, jumping the highway into sisters beach. Another two to the south are only small right now but have taken property, all started by lightning this morning. Super windy, damn hot, lightning strikes this morning.
Wish me luck guys! Here we go!

Don't um and er about the decisions to leave. Unless you have adequate fire fighting equipment don't risk it.
Being in the CFS when I was in the farm you soon learn to respect the weather and the fire

My inlaws live in Hobart and the wife`s aunts and uncles live just out of New Norfolk sol we are keeping in touch and hoping all are safe.
The RSL that went up in flames was one of the mother in laws favorite watering holes.
We are praying that the worst is over and all who have lost every thing can now rally to get their lives back to some normality and start to rebuild. To all members in Tas stay safe and our thoughts are with you

They said Hobart recorded its hottest since recording began in 1883. It was 41 in the city.
In the low to mid 30s here the last couple of days. Was 31 at my place at 7:30 last night.
It seems that the worst is over down south. Hope it's true

No Winnie, no-one would ever laugh at you! We're laughing with you haha.
Didn't you say hottest the state has seen? That record is for Hobart only. It has been hotter in other parts of the south in the last couple of days.

Montumana (about 20 minutes drive away from me) has been evacuated today. The show grounds in my town have been turned into an evacuation centre. The highway is closed about 15 minutes away from me. There's been a blanket of smoke over everything the last couple of days. I'm going to see if they need any help at the evacuation centre tomorrow. There's two smaller fires still burning about 10 minutes to the south of my town. Thankfully we've had a cool change but it got really windy too.
Stay safe everyone, we've still got a way to go.

A nice cool change with a bit of rain today. Still windy though.
Guess what!?... After reaching the highest temp since recording began, Hobart has had snow on mt Wellington over night!!! Thats Tassie for ya! Hopefully it's helping with the fires
