Hi Guys, being wanting a cargo barrier for awhile now, but I did want something permenant fixed, trips to bunnings with long bits of timber don't work with the barriers that are around on the market, So I built my own, found bits of metal around the house and got some 10mm perpex 1200X470 from the shop for 50 bucks bargain , electric motor from my sons spare car door :-) and this is it ... regards Alex

Given my complete lack of skill and ability I was thinking of just dropping my car off at Altech's place for a few days and see if one magically appeared in the back :)

Cheers mate but if you have the time I'd make a DIY and post it up as that would be an awsome contribution to the forum as I think alot of ppl would love to have have a bit more info;) don't need measurements and all that as every car/set up will differ but a few close ups would be good too.:cheers:

No ,not at all as you can by the video that I made up a spacer made from 3mm scarp wood and left over carpet and glued it on both sides , so it fits frame and perpex no rattle . and the perpex only go's up when needed . eg camping .. regards Alex

Mate the steel you found is called unistrut, it's the mechano set og building material. The railing supports hundreds of different types of clips for everything, I love the stuff.

Have look in this direction ,
