Also hot here believe it or not. Forecast for 40 in Hobart, it's at 36 at the moment. Forecast for mid 30s at queenstown on the west coast. It's sitting just under 30 here in Burnie but that's with a nice cool sea breeze. And where I am is a nice climate controlled pub:-)

Tap, crackle, pop

I remember driving home from Adelaide many many moons ago, where the crows were falling off their perches dying from the heat.
I believe it was 45 degree day.
I mean the sides of the highways were blackened from all the dead crows. That's how bad it was.

Coming back from town, yesterday, I saw a huge cloud of smoke from the direction of my property. As I got closer I could see that the fire was way further to the west. Got home and hitched the camp trailer, and started hosing down the wooden decking anyway. The CFA website was slow as, so just had to wait and see if the forecast wind change kicked in,which it did. My heart goes out to the victims of the Tasmainian fires, it could have easily been us. No matter how much preparation we've done, we've made the decisision to get into town. Today is a lot windier and warmer than forecasted, so I'm keeping an eye out.
