Anyone running a Autometer EGT Gauge have problems with the probe. I've had the gauge installed for about 2.5 years now & I'm upto my 3rd probe. Don't know why, but after a while the needle just go's haywire. Replace the probe & all good again for a while.

Drove mine round the coorong district of SA over the last few days and happened to me also , very rough roads though , then it came good . 2 hours of needle flicker then came good . So with your experience is mine on the way out as well ?

Where is your cable routed? any interference can effect it also any pulling and twisting of the cable as the whole thing is built to a certain resistance length. I had mine go crazy after the cable come off its bracket and hit the positive of the battery causing the cables resistance to change.

Havent had any issues with mine but is your's screwed in with a welded thread or clamped on with the ceramic washer?

Mine is only clamped on with the washer and have thought it could come loose if the washer breaks, etc...

AB Mines a welded bung. Johno I have inspected the wire each time & it hasn't moved from original location. No broken wire & not rubbed through anywhere. just stumps me why it works well for approx 6 months, then it craps itself.
