Hey all.

I have managed to find a few different manuals on the net for the wiring diagrams but can't seem to find the info I need. I can't download the one on this site as I still dont have enough posts so thought someone might be able to answer instead.

I am putting a TB42 motor in it. Its what I got with the car and all I can afford to do at present.

From what I can tell by the wiring. The coil and dizzy are all on the drivers side in the RB patrol? Is that correct? Seems like i need to extent some of the wiring across to the passenger side for the normal TB setup.

Can someone also post a picture or something of how the coil and resistor mount. I can;'t seem to figure this out.

I'm sure I have more questions coming just want to sort 1 at a time lol.

Cheers
Matt

This is from the 1988 model, I used thi when I installed a RB30s in my MK patrol

The coil & resistor are mounted on the left hand guard

Hey mate,

I have found the white wire with black stripe that goes to the ballast resistor but I can't seem to find the red one yet that goes to the coil.

I have all the manuals I can find including the factory one off here. Also have a different one and I am borrowing a mates tomorrow think its a Mallory one with rb and tb in it.

Last resort I will use a relay to split the signal from the starter motor solinoid. Thats all it is 12v to the coil while key is in the start position.

Think I have most the other stuff sorted.

You might be able to answer this. Did the RB30 have auto choke and fuel cut solinoid like on the drawing you took a snap shot of?

Thanks

Are you in the wombat?

If you can duck across to melton - I would be happy to give you a copy of my RB30 manuals (they are soft copys)

On the RB30 the coil is mounted on the motor. There should be a 2 wire plug that connected to the coil - const 12volts and start 12 volts

I fitted a manual cjhoke to the rb30 - and connected the Fule cut off solnoide to ignition 12 volts

If you are interested in joining a club let me know.

I am pretty much in it. Surrounded by it and about 100mtrs drive to actually get in bush. Is awesome.

I will have another look throuhg loom. The wire might be there just cut back. The car had a chev in it before i bought it so who knows what last person done with it.
