Hi all
I was wondering what you have used the space in the engine bay for? We go bush camping a bit and I was thinking along the lines of either a water heater or air compressor. We have batteries in the trailer and a solar set up so dont think I need to put an extra battery in there.
We drive a 2008 ST 3000ltr GU. Any thoughts or suggestions gratefully received

Usually you'd figure out what you really want or need to have and then try fit it onto your patrol. But yeah, a heat exchange hot water system or a compressor are common things to have under the bonnet.

Ritchie, if you really want to utilise all that space in a 3lt engine bay, would be to put in 6.6lt twin turbo Diesel engine. Surely that would fill it in.

Hot water would be nice...
Compressors are better mounted inside the cabin.

I agree with BearGUST, hot water under the bonnet. ARB air compressor fits nicely under the passenger seat and is able to get cool air from the a/c with the outlet nearby. No need to drill any holes mounted using three bolts with the ARB bracket.

I fitted my ARB compressor under the bonnet of mine in the rear corner on the passengers side, no good though if you have ABS as this will take up the area, other wise under the drivers seat as mentioned earlier, I run both ways, my GU had the room under the bonnet, dont know the life expectancy of it though as it gets hot under there, the Maverick was already mounted under the drivers seat
