Hi all, have an issue with a TD42 overheating. It had pretty grotty sludgy coolant so flushed system and changed coolant. It wasn't overheating prior to flushing and changing coolant. Have pulled thermostat and checked - OK, then left it out, flushed both ways, pulled water pump - impeller OK. Starting to think sludge may have blocked a heap of cores. The radiator cores externally are good. No bubbles in radiator indicating head gasket or cracked head. Anyone had this type of experience? Know of any method of cleaning the cores maybe with acid or will this kill the radiator? Thanks for any help, Bill

You may want to do some searches for overheating, there is a heap of info.
All with a common problem of blocked radiator core, when using different types of coolant. Take it to a radiator joint and get it checked thoroughly. Cos if thus forum is anything to go by it'll be a blocked radiator.

All you did was empty it and then fill it again. Could it be an air pocket? Are your hoses OK - or are they soft? Look at obvious stuff first. What happened between when it was OK and now?

Radiator rodded, only way to clean properly
Cost ohh, about $100 ,and you remove and refit, could be cheaper could be more
Throw new top bottom hoses on same time, new thermostat, full block flush as well, while your at
Should be sweet then

Muganic, have a good read through the entire thread of goats journey through hell with his over heating problem. We could make a mini series out of it.
