Ok So i have been trying to get to grips with just what the CRD motor does in regards to boost controlls and mine seams different to others.

Mine is a 2012 CRD 50th anniversary Manual, when stock, under load, boost came up to 14.5 psi, all the way up to 2300rpm, under heavy load, drop back to 12.5 psi and then increase to say 16-18 under 40% load.

From what i have been reading, everyone says that these should not make more then 10psi prior to 2000rpm, but mine makes more, have i got an issue?

Now i have an exhaust and the ecu is still managing to control the boost to same levels but i did wind the VNT screw back a 1/2 turn as the high end boost was a bit high.

That sounds about right to me. Mine is an '07 and those figures are almost exactly what I used to see prior to EGR block and agrees with most variable turbocharger boost curves.

After EGR block I had some occasional spiking so I tweaked the grub screw back a tad and now mine boosts at (this is from the ECU) very similar pressures again.

Your bigger exhuast brings boost on sooner in the rev range too.you could do a little more boost to about 16 psi see if that helps

we will see how she goes today, doing a treck up north intrasate. Will take it down to the dyno to run some tests

That sounds about right, I'll have another look but sounds right. When towing I will get spikes to around 17 for a second and then the ECU will control that back. It didn't change much with the beaudesert 2.75" except lot smoother and better exceleration and of course tons of torque down low(starting to really pull at 1500-1600rpm)
