Ok a 1st hand review of our emergency holiday ride
She had a bit over 5k on the clock when we picked her up. After 30-40minutes I found the seats to be fairly sh1t definitely no improvement on GQ seats!! This surprised me greatly, they have zero lower back support. Still better than a blown Prado :)
Tows the jayco eagle outback with ease, however the cruise control is a shocker as far as toeing goes it kicks down two gears to get back up to speed at the slightest incline. I stopped using it as I had a lot better control without it only kicking out of overdrive. First 300k with a shocking nthrly head wind and temps in excess of 50 frokn degrees and A/C pumping flat out we got 20ltr per 100k's!!!
I haven't filled up to see what mileage we got without the cruise on yet, and the wind dropped off also. Wife says back seats were more comfortable than the front??? She was in the back acting like a three year old with our three year old.
Apart from the seats I LOVE IT (wont be trading agatha in for one...........yet)would like to see how it performs without a load on so will update this thread when I can

I assume same seats as the ST? I find them pretty good, although haven't done any real long distance yet. The lack of steering wheel adjustment (rake) is a pain but that's about my only gripe with them so far.

Seats look possibly a little different to the ST seats, with no lumbar support adjustment by the looks of it.....

Nah mate no adjustable support whatsoever. Just a short drive no worries and probably too busy with other things if going off road on hard core stuff. But for touring NUP!!!!!
And what's the deal only one seat with a map holder!!
23633
23634
Good point though is plenty of room for water bottles in the door pockets

23637
Nuther negative though if I don't slam the doors they don't shut properly and sound a bit "weak"

Don't get me wrong I do like it. I'm just being ultra critical! But still for the price the seats are no improvement on my DX GQ bit poor imho

just gotta keep them cold enough but remember 1 hot one is worth 2 coldies.

yeah i was just saying the base models general are pretty crap compared if you go up 1 bracket you get a lot more creature comforts

That equals 24 which we all know is the magic number of a slab. Coincidence? I think Mr. Nissan is onto something!

Ok update.
This thing loves dirt roads it was like a train on rails! Slightly corrugated and potholey dirt tracks with the anti skid thing and all it was an absolute bloody pleasure to drive!!
Cruise control works marvelously without the camper also. Very stoked with it!!

Final fuel consumption was 18.25 ltr per 100km
Would I buy it?
Mmm probably not a DX the seats along with my sore arse from bike riding ain't happy for 51k I'd want shiploads more outa the chairs, really no improvement to GQ chairs.
Was great for towing the jayco and as expected was brilliant in the dunes and beach, plenty of power. We sat on 110 no worries.
Rear diff lock as standard was pretty cool but had to turn it on as soon as we were in the sand.
So there ya go a growlers perspective of a 2012 DX wAgon

Slap N Tap ;)

Give it a couple of months and the Prado will "break down again", and another test drive will have to be had......
