Hi all, had an extremely bad week at work, come home the other day to look at a noisy left hub, took it off & the CV axle come out with it, it topped off a bad day, I was at the Wattigans when it let go a week prior but didnt know it was broken at that stage, drove back to Sydney not thinking much about it, found this, masses of metal filings everywhere, grease was just slop, smelled of diff oil, I only rebuilt both front hubs 4 months ago, replaced everything, gotta throw it all out & rebuild one side all over again, not a real drama as I can do it myself, I am just having a whinge lol, just needed to tell someone, I bitched to my wife but she just rolled her eyes & kept painting her nails, my Mum would've understood I was upset cos my 'Toy' was broken & hurting lol

Anyhow I forgot that I moved my motorcycle into the car port..... Crunch.... Truck is fine, the spare tyre must have nudged the bike....... bike goes down ..... about $1500 later it should be all fixed.....

the track was a great challenge, apparently voted one of the top 50 tracks in Australia, a little snatching here & there & some chicken tracks but a very good track, we are hoping to go up there again in Feb/March if your interested, my toy made it but my tourer would struggle a fair bit I think

well I never got to start on the axle repair, I attended a house warming at my Brothers last nite, Stag, Bear, Bob & myself got on well till about 1am-ish, sore head this morning, to hot to get going then a house full of visitors all arvo today, just wasnt in the mood to be bent over the hub for hours with no shade & the dry horrors, been pushed of till next weekend

If your tourer would struggle, I would have no hope :(

2" lift & 33's should see it mostly done, a couple of chicken tracks would get me around the tricky stuff me thinks

all done & going well, did both sides in the end, now no brakes, been trying to work out what I did to cause it or I have bumped something, no lines twisted, all hoses sealed & good nick, no leaks, new fluid, correct fluid, maybe the booster?

clutch is great, when I push hard on the brake pedal it wants to stall a little so the vacuum is good, still stumped for now, will look over it again before I go to the brake shop
