rev needle can jump

Thought my eyes were playing tricks on me but i saw my rev needle bounce really quickly, Is this a nissan thing as i have never seen that happen before.

Happens on many makes not just Patrols, I think the cable is binding, could be a bit dry and I could be wrong, lol
Happened to me in a HR once upon a time, you can disconnect the cable from the tacho and spray some crc down it, might help. Or it could be worn or loose, have a look see to know.

Others in the know might give you another opinion and cure.
