Hi guys,

I've had my GU4 for 6 months now and it's due for 100,000k service. Just wondering what oil/filters/plugs I should use instead of what's specified for the petrol only engine in the manuals? Mine has a mixer type gas system with flashlube. No issues with the engine apart from rough idle when running on gas.

I've asked at the local auto shop but their claim that it "Doesn't really matter what you use" has not filled me with confidence... May be true but I thought I'd see what others thought or were using in their LPG 4.8's.

Cheers!

Scott

Just in case anyone stumbles across this with the same question, I'm putting in 10W-40 oil and replacing the plugs with NGK PLFR4A-11 plugs if I can find them. OEM are PLFR5A-11 but the R4A's are cold gapped and more suitable for gas - these are really expensive locally, cheapest I've found is $25 apiece but I suspect they can be purchased cheaper from the US as Titan/350z/Altima etc use the same. Have seen online over there for as low as $10ea but need to find someone who will ship internationally. Oil filter is the standard one for the 4.8.
I'm at 100,000 now so will do the oil this week and hopefully find some cheaper plugs in the next couple of weeks.

I would reconmend that you have your Patrol tuned by a LPG Specialist as I have found that very few Mechanics have any idea how to tune for Gas
