Yep even without having breakeages. On my GU I have spent 2000 on tyres, 900 on wheels, 600 on canvas, 250 on tint, 500 for seat and console sway. 400 for vinyl floor and soundproofing, 1150 on radiator, 3100 on trubo upgrad items, 1500 on exhausts, 500 on a manifold, maintenance cost would prob be close to the 3k mark for the year. So im up around 14k just on that car :) and still going. Gotta love patrols :):)

My wife has got to the point of saying she doesn't want to know so is that q blessing or I'm about to get a beating I don't know. Here's to a new years with little trouble. I'll hit 200000 km next year so injectors and diesel pump are due for an over haul she won't like the cost of that

I never tried to total it all up because I didn't wanna know, but when I had to list all modifications and their cost, it made me cringe. I'd have a house deposit by now!

I had a good house deposit when I bought my patrol, then started spending money on it. 4500 on the auto box was a bit crazy! I had a reality check and stopped the patrol mods long enough to get my house deposit back up and now I'm happily writing this from my new house that I've been in for a month:-)
I've gone the cheap route with my patrol because as I've said above, getting into a house was more important.
Patrol purchase: $5000
Gearbox: $4500(including nomad valvebody)
Bar, purchase: $250
Mod: freebie from mate
Blast and paint: $200
Warn xd900: $500
Wheels, tyres: $1600
Uhf: $250
Pertronix: $220
Snorkel: $100
Other misc items like lights etc: $500.
I've missed a lot.

Grin from ear to ear: PRICELESS

I don't think my better half will want to know what I've got planned for my baby. Gotta change that Netbank password lol.

So far including the purchase price I've spent $23,500. Much, much further to go yet!

I seem to pay for my stupidity if you include purchase price in at 37000. I thought having a 4wd would be better than performance cars that's where I started from. This cost just as much in breakages I just get to keep my licence and stay outta court/jail doing this. I tell my wife that 4wd ownership is not just transport but a hobby and a life style

Performance cars and 4bys cost an arm and a leg, the joy of owing and going places no others can in our cars is what makes it worth it.

Im getting my gearbox done now, so i havent had it for 2 weeks. Im dreading the bill but excited to get her back. Fingers crossed its tomorrow.

I've owned my GQ Nearly 8 years. All the mods over that time Including the purchase price $15000 it owes me approx $42000. Going to spend another $5000 on it shortly. It's never ending. Would like to add that most of it is mods not repairs.

Crickey...

$15k for an 03 GU TB48 + $300 for mechanical inspection. Im now approaching $12k in repairs, a chunk of that diagnosing a cracked head and a new motor and a bar+winch+light combo. Hopefully not another brass razoo until i get a few trips under the belt.

Yep, i got taken.

Mine has gone up since finding this forum and reading up on things you guys have done and are doing.

What the hell though, roof over our heads and food on the table, so if I want some stuff for my Patrol, I get it.............;)

Paid 3500 sterling for mine and spent 2000 getting it mechanically spot on, body and interior bits to sort now.

Kids, stay clear of mud holes and you'll be a lot richer!

To true a quote has never been said. They are fun though and that is why we drive in them.
