My name is John aka chopperboy,
I live in Brisbane and hAve been roaming Aus since 1967,started by spending 7 years in
The Kimberley's working as a chippy, built the 1st house frame in Karratha.
Those were the years when you could go any where, talk about remote, it was fantastic
Have travelled many places in all types of vehicles from F100s to most 4x4s and motorbikes
Even mined Opals at the ridge full time for a few years
Currently own an 04 TD patrol ute, the best 4x4 I've had, all kitted up inc suspension seats, fantastic change to the ride.
As an aside I had 2 1989 GQ utes at work (now retired) one did 830,000 before dropping the gearbox and being retired, the other 920000 before retiring, a farmer bought it and its still going. We never touched the diffs, gearboxes or motors in these during this time, apart from servicing every 10,0000 klm, shows what constant use can do
Always go west each year, lucky to have a wife that loves it
This is a fantastic site and have been following for years don't know why it's taken me so long to join

Welcome mate, surely the best forum on the net. If you need it, you can get it, if you want to know it, just ask it.

Never argue with an idiot, cos he'll bring you down to his level, then beat you with experience.
