Hi again just wondering if anyone here has stuffed some acoustic batts in 1/4 panel cavities or door cavities to keep the noise down a touch. I did it on my last 4x4 with great success, was thinking may help the Patrol even though they're pretty good standard?

I installed Denso Tape (3mm thick) used for slagging of pipes and is a bitumen type material backed onto a vinyl and is adhesive on one side. I stuck it to the fire wall in both foot wells and on the floor in the front foot wells. I also fitted it inside the doors too. Works great!


I also used it on the winch drum on the low mount I just fitted to the GUIV before fitting plasma rope as a heat shield for the rope. Very handy stuff.

So you noticed a difference in sound, just little things wouldn't be expecting a huge difference, thats good I'll Grab a pac of acoustic batts and see how it goes, Thanks Newby

yeah i did my firewall,floor and all doors in dynamat,droped the exterior noise by 50% easily

I love it being thanked and all and I wasnt even hear. I would also go with the dynamat/resomat option easy to apply, isnt bulky and the results are well worth it.

i used the Denso tape because i got a heap of it for free when i did a big job at their factory. They had al this end of roll sitting around and let me take a few rolls. It has been a real winner and i know some of this stuff gets pretty exy. All in all though it has made a considerable difference for sure.

Did it reduce heat aswell? I get a lotta heat coming up through my floor pan, especially on hot days!

Yes it made a huge difference to heat and noise.
