Hi guys, had a quick look through some of your forum and found some handy information. Not yet done any posting but that may start very soon.

I have owned a number of patrols over the years inc

82' Datsun Patrol SWB 3.3D
86' Nissan Patrol SWB 3.3D
87' Patrol SWB 2.8 petrol
94' Patrol LWB 4.2 Petrol
92' Patrol LWB Kingsroad 4.2D Modded this one lift tyres etc
95' Patrol LWB petrol auto
96' LWB petrol auto converted to 4.2 diesel manual
then a wee gap

Now I own 3 Patrols all LWB
2x 96' 2.8tdi's one for my mother the other for my partner.
And my 4.2 Diesel With a few mods so far.... :)
Safari Snorkel
37x13.50 R16 Mudzillas on 4" offset steels
5" lift (home made) with custom +4 extra heavy duty springs 9" lift...!!!
exterior visor
60mm spacers
Skyline R34 turbo running 14psi Boost
2.5" straight through exhaust with 4" cherry bomb in centre.
Back end had a lot of rot so cut out all the crap and 2.5 feet of the back of the chassis and started again so she is more than solid. 80x80 6mm wall box 8 and 6mm gussets and angled strengtheners.
LED rear lights.
Also made a new tank guard from 4mm Steel folded to shape.
Winch bumper from 6mm plate again made from scratch...
And we'll see what happens next...... :)

I have a back ground working in the forestry industry and working on and modding 4 wheel drives, mainly Land Rovers though.

I have my own small business AWD Solutions specialising in Land Rovers note I don't run one myself though....

I do anything from basic servicing to full vehicle builds... I have a few other toys inc Volvo TGB's and Volvo BV202. 2x TGB1111's one standard one heavily modded and a TGB13 6 wheel drive long wheel base with 6.5 diesel V8 fitted... My cars are Lexus LS or classics.

So that's a bit about me and what I'm about.

G'day........!!!!

Welcome mate, surely the best forum on the net. If you need it, you can get it, if you want to know it, just ask it.

Never argue with an idiot, cos he'll bring you down to his level, then beat you with experience.

Here's my first quickie then.... With a 9" suspension lift on my LWB GR how long do my prop spacers need to be...? Took it out the garage for a quick spin, heard a slight scuffing. So threw it back in fitted an extra exhaust hanger and have made up 4 flanges to make my prop spacers I have some heavy steam pipe that's ideal for the job just looking for a measurement before I do some guess work.... Thanks in advance....

Hey mate a lot of people don't read the intros at. I'd chuck ya Q in the mech section. But with 9" of lift I reckon ya need a parachute for exits hahahahahaha! Pics mate we want pics of your beast

as for a 9" lift doubt there would be a 4x4 in Aus with this done, unless a promo truck?
I have never seen one

I like opting for the DIY route and there aint much in the way of parts available for modding Patrols in the UK. Everything has to come from aus and shipping seems to double the price of alot of stuff...

I used 110mm OD pipe cut the spring seats of the axles, welded em on top and lifted everything 5" to start with. Then raised rear shock mounts on axle end to suit, took front turrets of and replaced with flat plate 8mm drilled to suit shock and locating bolts. Chucked the anti roll bars for the time being will make a front disclocator later. Dropped the trailing arm mounts on the chassis 5" to tie in with everything else. With my 37's I had minor scrubbing. Made a Winch bumper and fitted it which left me with alot of scrubbing on the front when steering. Got in touch with a spring company gave them my requirement and got some +4 extra heavy duty springs made up. Stuck em on and now need to deal with props and castor correction again....?

G'day mate and welcome to the forum.

Personally, I leave the DIY stuff to the professionals. I pay for everything.
