Magnetic Island is a beautiful spot and recommend anyone travelling near Townsville to stop off there. Massive boulders are on the island which were used as army barracks in world war II. It was were the first shots were fired in the war and they carved little peep holes through the boulders.

You can hire little mopeds to zoom around the island but make sure you pull the pegs up. I went around a corner, tucked it in doing a massive 35km/h....lol....The peg hit the asphalt and I supermanned across the road in shorts and spent 2 days on the couch sooking like a whoose!!!

Trying hard not to loose my deposit on the moped hire I spent 3 hours with a black Artline texture colouring in the scratches....Got my $150 back too...lol

It's worth a day visit over there if your passing by for sure!
